Cookies and local storage policy

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains which storage technologies the Convertilo website uses in your browser or device.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that websites store on your computer or mobile device when you visit them. It lets the site remember your actions and preferences for a period of time.

2. What Convertilo uses

  • Technical language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE): a first-party cookie that the Site may set to remember the language you chose. It is a session cookie: it is deleted when you close the browser. It is necessary for the Site to work and is not used for advertising.
  • Analytics: the tool we use (Vercel Web Analytics) does not use cookies.
  • Local storage (localStorage): we use the key convertiloar_ciudad_clima to remember the weather widget’s city (name, country and coordinates). This data stays only in your browser and is not sent to our servers.
  • Service worker and push notifications (only if you turn notifications on): the browser stores a small program (/sw.js) that lets it receive notices even when the Site is closed. You can turn them off from the Site or from the browser’s permissions.
  • The third-party sites and services we link to, or whose images load on the Site (for example, exchanges, Telegram or social networks), may use their own cookies, which are governed by their policies.

3. How to control or delete this data

You can allow, block or delete cookies and local data from your browser’s settings:

If you clear local data, the weather widget will ask for a city or your location again, and the Site will choose the language again based on your browser.
