What is the card dollar?

The card dollar is what you pay in pesos per dollar when you use your card for foreign-currency purchases: trips, purchases abroad and subscriptions such as streaming or apps.

It is calculated on the official dollar plus the tax withholdings that apply. Those percentages are set by the State and can change.

If you have your own dollars, in many cases you can pay the card statement in dollars and avoid those withholdings.
