What is the mep dollar?
The MEP dollar, also called the stock market dollar, comes from buying a bond or a share in pesos and selling it for dollars in the local market. It is a legal way to get dollars.
It is done from an account at a broker (ALyC) or from the online banking of some banks, and the dollars stay in an account in Argentina.
Under current rules there may be minimum periods between buying and selling the bond (known as “parking”). Ask your broker before trading.
